Marketing Manager

Canadian Life Science is looking for a passionate, dynamic and creative Marketing Manager who will be responsible for activities such as developing marketing strategies in line with our company’s objectives, branding, product promotion, market studies and marketing collateral based in Peterborough head office.

The ideal candidate for this role must have a strong capacity for collaborating, be resourceful and performance driven who can track and analyze the performance of product promotions, implement online marketing strategies, manages the marketing plan/budget and ensures that all marketing material is in line with our brand identity.

To be successful in this role, you should have hands-on experience with web analytics tools and be able to turn creative ideas into effective marketing projects. Ultimately, you will help us build and maintain a strong and consistent brand through a wide range of marketing channels, online as well as through our direct sales team. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop strategies and tactics to get the word out about our company and drive qualified traffic to our front door

• Deploy successful marketing campaigns and own their implementation from idea to execution

• Experiment with a variety of organic and paid acquisition channels like content creation, content curation, pay per click campaigns, event management, publicity, social media, lead generation campaigns, copywriting, performance analysis

• Maintaining websites and looking at data analytics. Produce valuable and engaging content for our website, blog and newsletters that attracts and converts our target groups

• Build strategic relationships and partner with key vendors and industries

• Prepare and monitor the marketing budget on a quarterly and annual basis, allocate funds wisely and track ROI

• Coordinating internal marketing and communicate with and report to the management team

• Working closely with our Graphic Designer, you will oversee and approve marketing material, from website banners to hard copy brochures, case studies and online collateral

•Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals

• Analyze customer behavior and adjust email and advertising campaigns accordingly

• Participate in events such as conferences, seminars, sales meetings, etc., as well as organizing product presentations

• This position requires occasional availability outside normal working hours

Skills and Qualifications:

• Innovation: Experience in marketing and attitude required to learn new areas of interests

• Future Vision: Must be able to visualize company’s brand in the future and align this with a winning strategy and common goals and plans

• Creativity: Proven experience in identifying target audiences

• Analytical Skills: Understanding of market trends, using tools like metrics and analysis, to be able to predict big picture

• Technical Skills: Solid knowledge of latest available platforms, website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, WebTrends); Experience in setting up and optimizing Google Adwords campaigns; Social Media using amongst others LinkedIn

• Specialization: Commercial awareness; Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement

• Communication: Performance and results oriented individual with great communication skills, strategic and convincing

• Team Player: Strong work ethic, motivated and works well with others

• Leadership: Focus on the identification of needs and delivering best results. Determination to get over the roadblocks, tenacity to overcome tough situations and the patience to never give up

• University or college degree in Marketing and / or equivalent experience

• Knowledge of analytical chemistry/chromatography can be an asset

• Time management skills and works effectively in fast-paced environment

• Excellent knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, the web in general and the ability to adapt quickly to new software (SAGE 300, CRM)

Devoirs et responsabilités:

• Atteindre les objectifs de vente, développer de nouvelles opportunités commerciales et créer une stratégie pour développer le territoire

• Développer et mettre en oeuvre un plan de vente, développer des moyens efficaces pour commercialiser les produits, augmenter les revenus et la rentabilité du territoire

• Démontrer ses compétences et sa capacité à comprendre les besoins du client et à identifier des solutions. Cela nécessite une bonne connaissance et une bonne compréhension des techniques de laboratoire d'analyse.

• Construire des relations à long terme avec les clients existants et potentiels (industrie et universités). Prospecter, qualifier les nouveaux prospects et développer de nouvelles opportunités sur une base continue.

• Préparation des devis pour les clients et suivi ultérieur

• Maintenir le système de gestion de la relation client (Customer Relationship Management) en mettant à jour en permanence les informations qui sont ensuite mises à la disposition des équipes de support aux ventes et de marketing. Cela nécessite discipline et soin pour la qualité des données collectées et transmises

• Travailler avec le directeur des ventes pour évaluer les comptes et proposer des objectifs de vente annuels pour chaque ligne de produits et revoir les plans régulièrement tout au long de l'année et ajuster les actions si nécessaire

• Participer à des événements tels que des conférences, des séminaires, des réunions de vente, etc., et organiser des présentations de produits.

• Ce poste nécessite une certaine disponibilité en dehors des heures normales de travail.

• Le candidat doit apprécier les voyages d’affaires et être disponible pour se déplacer environ. 40% du temps.

Compétences et qualifications:

• Anglais et français courants

• Diplôme universitaire ou collégial en chimie analytique ou en biochimie et / ou expérience équivalente

• Expérience de vente serait un atout

• Personne orientée vers la performance et les résultats avec d'excellentes compétences en communication

• Habiletés d’écoute active et approche orientée solution client

• Forte éthique de travail, très motivé et capable de gérer plusieurs tâches avec succès. Capacité d’exécuter rapidement, tout en restant organisé et en travaillant avec d’autres

• Capacité à travailler de manière indépendante et en équipe, à communiquer efficacement et à faire preuve d’initiative pour contribuer à la croissance de l’entreprise.

• Compétences en gestion du temps et travail efficace dans un environnement en évolution rapide

• Excellente connaissance de Word, Excel, Outlook, du Web en général et capacité d'adaptation rapide à de nouveaux logiciels.

Technical Outside Sales Representative

Canadian Life Science is looking for a Technical outside Sales Representative with a chemistry or biochemistry background based in Montreal, Quebec. The successful candidate will support all existing and potential customers in the territory of Quebec and Maritimes.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic, motivated, resourceful and performance driven individual who has the confidence and ability to serve our existing customers while growing the territory by bringing in new business opportunities. The selected candidate must be looking for a long term career within a challenging but pleasant, flexible, professional and respectful working environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Achieve sales objectives, develop new business opportunities, and create strategy to grow the territory

• Develop and implement a sales plan, develop effective ways to market products, increase territory revenue and profitability

• Demonstrate the skills and ability to understand customer needs and identify solutions. This requires a good knowledge and understanding of analytical laboratory techniques.

• Build long term relationships with existing and potential customers (Industry & Academic). Prospect, qualify new leads and bring in new business opportunities on an ongoing basis.

• Preparing quotations for customers and the further follow up

• Maintain the CRM system (Customer Relationship Management) by continually updating information which is then available to the sales support and marketing teams. This requires discipline and care for the quality of data collected and transmitted

• Working with Sales Manager to assess accounts and propose yearly sales objectives for each product line and reviewing plans regularly throughout the year and adjust actions as required

• Participate in events such as conferences, seminars, sales meetings, etc., as well as organizing product presentations.

• This position requires some availability outside normal working hours.

• Candidate must appreciate business travelling and be available to travel approx. 40% amount of the time.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Fluent in English and French

• University or college degree in Analytical Chemistry or Biochemistry and / or equivalent experience

• Sales experience would be an asset

• Performance and results oriented individual with great communication skills

• Active listening skills and customer solution oriented approach

• Strong work ethic, highly motivated and successfully handles multiple tasks, executes in a timely manner and staying organized and works well with others

• Ability to work independently, effectively communicates and work well in a team and shows initiative to contribute to company’s growth

• Time management skills and works effectively in fast-paced environment
