The Purchasing and Logistics Manager is responsible for source selection and procurement associated with the company’s needs for chromatography materials. These products are to be secured at cost, quality and delivery standards. 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Implement a fully functional supply chain management infrastructure, ensuring all fast moving COGS are in stock, at the highest quality and at the most competitive price.
  • Secures and analyzes quotations, negotiates prices and terms with suppliers, and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality and timely delivery.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and maintain and establish purchasing arrangements.
  • Maintains supplier relationships, visiting suppliers’ facilities to qualify them as new sources and audits of current suppliers.
  • Sourcing: Support product innovation; identifying new potential suppliers, working with sales/marketing on forecasting and planning to build an effective supply chain.

Essential Team Responsibilities 

  • Work closely with management team as it relates to product logistics with problem solving techniques.
  • Work closely with the other purchasing team members as it relates to progress in the supply chain.
  • Participate in everyday tasks relating to an assortment of company needs due tofast-paced growth environment.
  • International travel is required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Three years purchasing and logistics management experience in a distribution environment.
  • Working knowledge of supply chain, Materials Resource Planning systems and Logistics.
  • Solid analytical skills and computer proficiency (Sage ERP and Sage CRM).
  • Planning: ability to perform short and long-range planning.
  • Professional interpersonal and communication skills.
